In a tropical dry forest, precipitaion is tied strictly to dry season, during which majority of the trees loosea portion of their leaves as an adaptation to water loss through transpiration. This photograph was taken during the first weeks of dry season. Note the vegetation cover is still very green due to fairly recent rains, but unlike in a rainy season, the sky is clear - not overcast.
