Zacaton - a bunch grass habitat, mainly consisting of Epicampes, Festuca and Muhlenbergia, is unique to central Mexico and can be found on the crater slopes of high volcanoes. It is a preferred habitat of Volcano rabbit Romerolagus diazii, one of the most endangered species of rabbit in the world.
