CITROLINE TROGON

Geographic range: Neotropical: Endemic to W Mexico. Present on the coastal lowlands and foothills from Sinaloa south to Chiapas.

Physical characteristics: Yellow -bellied trogon with brownish head and wings and greenish -blue metallic back. Undertail white overall. Around 25 - 28 cm in length. Female paler chest color. Upperparts gray.

Food habits: Eats mostly small fruit and insects.

Reproduction: Nests in termitaries.

Behavior: Solitary, quiet bird. Usually sits erect and still. Flutters in air, when picking small fruit.

Habitat:
Arid to semiarid woodland, thornforest, plantations, mangroves, tropical deciduous forest
