Geographic range: Neotropical: Endemic to W Mexico. On Pacific slope from Sonora to Oaxaca, in interior Mexico found only around Balsas basin. Apparentlyartificially established populations exist in Mexico City and Oaxaca City.

Physical characteristics: Typical robin shape and size. Rufous back, gray head and nape. Wings and tail darker gray. Throat streaked black on lighter gray background. Bill and orbital ring yellow color. Sexes similar.

Food habits: Mostly fruit and insects.

Reproduction: Nest built as a cup of mostly vegetable matter. Eggs are whitish with striking rusty brown marks.

Behavior: In winter may form flocks

Habitat:
Deciduous, semideciduous forest, forest edges, plantations, suburban areas, gardens.
